One Stitch At A Time: Part 1

As you may recall from my “Dude, Finish Your Breakfast” post, I began a little challenge for myself intended toward finishing every project that I began working on at some point in the past. I’ve decided to name this series “One Stitch At A Time”.

For my first project, I found 3 half finished pieces (a midi skirt, shorts, and tube top) that I really wanted to complete (and most especially wear)before the summer is over, and I began working.

I’m so happy that I did these pieces first because 2 out of 3 of them required that I install invisible zippers. I used to be so averse to creating anything that may require a zipper –probably why I never finished them to begin with– until I realized how limiting that method of sewing can be. Those two pieces gave me the opportunity to exercise a very weak and underdeveloped muscle.

Although the shorts are a tad loose in the waist and I would honestly rather have the skirt fall right below the knee, I am so happy with the finished products!
