Styleweek Northeast brings some of the best fashion designers in New England together under one roof for a weekend of art, glamour, and of course style. This weekend was the show’s 15th production season and my first experience. The Styleweek experience is a unique one that brings members of the community into a world of fashion and creative expression. I chose to attend the closing night show on Saturday Sept. 22, and I was surely not disappointed.
The first show featured a bright, beautiful, edgy, line called “Blue Betty” by Clothes Horse Clothing. I loved the signature floral print mixed with denim and faux fur. The overall presentation of the line was absolutely flawless and full of 70’s vibes.
Rose & Thread, a New York based brand, came up next. I knew immediately that everything in their line was made for me. From the clean, tailored, button down blouses to the classic sleeveless turtle necks, I found myself mentally adding every piece to my wardrobe. Rose & Thread provides staple pieces that every woman ought to have in her wardrobe, and does so with sophistication.
Lalla Bee showcased items from its spring ’18 collection. The florals and floor length gowns had me longing for warmer, sunnier weather. The collection is full of elegant pieces that can be worn for weddings, galas, and other special occasions.
The show closed out with a stellar showcase by Kent Stetson that was out of this world!! Not only was his collection full of colorful unique handbags and totes, but they were mostly modeled by robots built by middle and high school students!! I could go on and on about the show, but in all honesty, you simply just had to be there.
Styleweek season 15 was such a great experience. I made some new connections, discovered some amazing designers, and left inspired. Who knows; maybe I can create a line to show some day!!
Student discounts were available for two nights, so be on the lookout for announcements for the spring production.
